This Is It.

This is really it. I can't believe this is happening. Again. I leave this afternoon for Australia. Wow. I don't even know what I'm feeling right now.

Wowza.

My life's doin' a 180 starting today. Another chapter begins in my world.

Okay...we're off!

My New Favorite Tee

For the significance of what it says, check out my entry from July 29.

"Pumps" Up The Volume

Why do men and women obsess over a lady in high heels?

According to Christian Louboutin, famous French designer of women's shoes, high heels "change the body language of a woman. The heel not only elongates the leg, but it also causes the woman to pull her shoulders back (bringing out the bust), it arches her back, and adds more shape to her derriere."

What woman or man wouldn't want that? Perhaps a woman with a bad back. Or one with corns on her feet.

Kiss Me- Quick!

Five- that's how many days I have left in the US before I go to Australia for a couple of months.

AUGGGH! Scary!

Yesterday, since Australian grocery stores doesn't have any of the American wonders that make us fat, I bought the following:

*Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate chips

*Hershey Kisses (regular, dark chocolate, and peanut-butter)

*Snickers, Twix, 3 Musketeers, and Milky Way candy bars

*Grape jelly (can you believe they don't sell grape jelly/jam/preserves?)

*Pumpkin pie mix (for Thanksgiving)

*Oreos

But there's a way you could get US empty carbs in Australia- but a box of Lucky Charms cost about $11.00 US. How about a bag of Hershey Kisses for $20US? Check out these outrageous prices- they're for real and through the roof.

My New Nickname

It all started as a joke between Paul, Ellen, and my brother-in-law, Andrew.

We were all together hanging out talking about how I was too thin. Ellen said that we should come up with a nickname for me.

Someone yelled "Fatso!"

Another said "Mr. Skinny!"

I thought about it for a second and then blurted out "Ribs."

Everyone laughed uncontrollably. And just like one dipped in honey BBQ sauce, "Ribs" stuck ever since.

Is Chris Noth-ing?

As you've heard by now, Chris Noth, the original "Mr. Big", finally jumped on the "Sex and the City" feature film bandwagon. But how "big" of a role will his character play?

According to Cinemablend, "no storyline has been released for the film yet, so there’s no telling how extensive his role in the movie will be. Considering he’s a regular player on 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent,' the role will either have to be minor or something worth Noth taking a break from hunting down criminals".

In my humble filipino opinion, Big should be as small as possible. The show's about the four women.

After all, it's not the size of the pencil that counts, it's how well it writes.

Confessions Of An Anorexic?

Not really.

But that's what a few people think. Or at least they think I look like one.

But I am not.

I know I'm not.

I like to eat. And I follow through by eating. And if I really like what I'm eating, I eat a lot of it. None of the food that goes into my mouth "resurfaces", unless it's in my poop.

Nobody, not even my sister or Paul, fully understand how I truly feel. How I truly feel when people lecture me about being too thin.

You know, I empathize with (ahem) Nicole Richie. The press, reporters, tabloids, and everyone under the sun spread rumors that she was anorexic. She denied it adamantly and even had big daddy Lionel defend her. I think it finally got through people's head that she's not.

Guess that's what I have to do and wait for.

Ladies And Gentlemen...

It's "The Ernie's Guide To Rehoboth Beach!"

Picture #1- #10 New Castle, a beachhouse where Ernie and Paul stayed for many years during Memorial Day weekend (This is what it looks like now. It used to be a cute little dump.)

Picture #2- Blue Moon, *the* bar. Before men show up here, they moisturize to cover up sunburn from their hungover afternoon in the sun.

Picture #3- Hey, Blue Moon's empty! Where's everyone? They're still at home moisturizing!

Picture #4- Lingo's Market, where the checkout ladies are 100 years old, blind, and deaf

Picture #5- Ready everyone?! One, Two, Three! "Neeeeeeeecolaah!"

This Is An Example Of How Quickly You Can Get Fat.

Picture #1: ordering a funnel cake

Picture #2, taken two hours later: fat applied directly to stomach (notice lovely funnel cake rolls)

People I Admire

*Those that have ran (and finished!) a marathon
*Mommies (especially single moms) that still maintain their individual personality outside of being a mother
*Physically-challenged people that participate in sports
*Those who are on fire for God but are still considered "cool" by non-believers
*Cardio-junkies that have broken the habit
*Middle-aged men who are well-dressed and groomed
*Women who know fashion
*Incredibly creative people who put their talent to good use
*Men gymnasts
*People who have gone through incredible adversity in their lives and still have an optimistic outlook on life

One Time, At Band Camp...

If you once was a marching band geek...

I just got back from this tonight. I kept getting goosebumps, it was so good.

The theater was packed (with other band nerds). But it was a blast!

Great Clothes! (I Guess.)

A picture I took Sunday at the shopping mall. Abercrombie, doin' what they know best- two models right inside the store strikin' a pose.
This blog entry is dedicated to my friends outside the USA.

Sneak Peak!

The new face of Louis Vuitton is...Mikhail Gorbachev?!

Yes, the picture above isn't a lesson in photoshop. It's (gulp!) real. It's a sneak preview of Louis Vuitton's fall ad campaign featuring former Soviet Union leader, Mikhail Gorbachev and his sidekick, the wine-colored birthmark, all in hopes of promoting LV's fine art of travel.

Also appearing in LV's fall campaign is Steffi Graff, Andre Agassi, and Catherine Deneuve.

(Please pinch me, I'm dreaming. What is happening to this world? Who passed the whammy jammy to Vuitton's marketing department?)

"Bourne" Again

I think the best movie I've seen this summer is no longer "Ratatouille" but "Bourne Ultimatum," which grabs your attention from the start and holds it through most of the movie.

Congratulationsare in order for Matt Damon who accomplished what many other actors and actresses have aimed for but fallen short: to star in a trilogy of movies where all three films were well-written, well-attended, and enjoyed by critics.

I haven't enjoyed a movie this much since "The Prestige".

"Five Second" Rule: Fact or Fiction?

A piece of your food falls to the floor. "5, 4, 3, 2, 1". Can you still eat it without getting food poisoning, rabies, or scabies? The "five second rule" is no dirty little secret- it's a practice a lot of people use when they mistakenly drop something from a meal or snack.

The biology department at American University tested it scientifically in June to determine whether it's a myth or reality. They selected two samples of food: bologna and gummy bears. They first slapped many pieces of bologna on the floor and household furniture including public couches. The bologna stayed on each surface for five seconds. Afterwards, they did the same procedure with gummy bears. The samples were all placed in an isolated incubation for a short period.

At first glance, the results were a bit repulsive. Bologna that hit the floor was contaminated with bacteria that could have been salmonella. One gummy bear picked up ecoli bacteria from the public couch.

The good news is that most samples were okay, and those that were laced with germs and bacteria didn't have enough harmful levels that normal people with regular immune systems couldn't fight.

Bottom line: The "five second rule" sticks. It'll just be a dirty little secret between you, the food, and the bacteria from around your house.

One Last Picture- Promise.

Just wanted to show you one last shot from Martha's Vineyard.

This is the B&B where we stayed. Barbie was the host.

Just kidding. This is one of the gingerbread-style houses that real people live in. Apparently a home designer and architect smoked a little too much whammy jammy and decided to build a bunch of these.

Click here to read the true but boring story about these houses in Martha's Vineyard. Go with what I said for it to be interesting.
