Hair Today

Fuzzy wuzzies on my head,
"Hair's growin' back!" is what I said.
Fuzzy wuzzy wasn't Ernie, wuzzy?

The Big Chill

Today is the coldest day in NYC in about two years. This morning it was nine degrees, but with the wind chill factor (What a phrase- "wind chill factor!" Rosie O'Donnell's got a "wind chill factor" on Trump! Mess with me and I'll "wind chill factor" all over yo' pitiful self!) it felt like it was only -3 degrees outside.

I went out around lunchtime to get some food. My lips fell off.

A Time To Buff, A Time For Stuff

I guess everyone has their day in the sun.

I watched Antonio Sabato Jr. get interviewed on the Megan Mullally show today. Antonio, known to women for his soap opera career and to gay men for his Calvin Klein underwear ads, achieved icon-like status for appearing on Janet Jackson's video "Love Will Never Do Without You."

Megan asked him directly on the show today whether he still worked out. Antonio, in his own words, said "Not really, I've really focused on racing and cars." He then talked about how he started an auto company in California that rebuilds stock engines and turns them into power horses.

I find it so amazing that someone who is known by everyone for the perfect face with the perfect body can mature and leave it behind to pursue real dreams.

I Was On TV Yesterday!

I couldn't believe it- I was on TRL yesterday!

My sister and I ate lunch at Times Square. On the way home, I stopped by the bank to cash a check. Little did I realize that right above the bank was MTV studios, and little did I know that it was 3:30PM, the very minute that TRL goes on air live. I ran frantically out of the bank when I heard the screaming teenagers, ducked behind police crossings, and began waving and smiling at the camera!

My sister and I were rolling at my craziness.

I taped it back at home and can't wait to watch.

Out Of The Frying Pan...

And into the freezer!

Last week, Paul and I were in warm and sunny Puerto Rico, but tomorrow we go to freezing cold New York for six days to spend time with my sister.

You can be sure that I won't attach warm happy pictures of me in my bathing suit next time I write.

Women And Money

Humor me, and pretend you have to answer this question correctly in order to keep your job (now I know some of you will purposely answer wrong.) Who would you guess is the top four richest women in entertainment?

According to Forbes, they are:
#4- Madonna
#3- Martha Stewart
#2- J.K Rowling

Most people who had to guess the answers mention #1 quite often, Oprah Winfrey, who now holds the reigns of Dr. Phil and Rachel Ray's talk shows.

Last Full Day Here

This trip was truly amazing. If your winter's are cold, you should go to a warm climate in the middle of the season. It opens your eyes and allows your body to exhale.

I had the best time with Paul. Relaxing and spending so much time with each other was simply refreshing.

I watched "Sex And The City" before I left. I borrowed the following from the episode to summarize how I feel:

My dear Paul,

You are there for me in the morning, you are there for me in the night,
there in the good, there in the bad,
there in my thoughts, there in my dreams,
but most of all, there in my heart, forever.

Day One In The Sun

Never in a million years I would have guessed that I would be shirtless and warm enough to get in the pool. When we first arrived, I was still very cold and wondered why everyone else around wore bathing suits.

Photos: a shot of me with tropical drink in hand, and views of what I saw on my left and right (note the bird.)

Nice, huh?

I Am So In The Caribbean!

(Fret)

Next time I write you will be from my vacation in Puerto Rico with Paul. And while that sounds luxurious, I can't help but worry a little over it. This will be the first time the "new, bald, pale, and skinnier Ernie" makes his debut.

Paul has given me a lot of reassurance that it'll all be okay, but I'm wondering whether or not my body will feel warm. The forecast calls for 81 degrees all week long, but I can't imagine wearing shorts without feeling chilly! And what should I pack? A mix of sweatshirts, jackets, short sleeves, and swimming trunks? I'm packing for two climates!

Anyway, more later. We leave tomorrow morning.

'Housewives' Fired

Dear Lynette, Edie, Bree, Susan and Gaby,

I loved you women for two and a half seasons, but I'm writing you to tell you our relationship is through. I set aside my Sunday nights to spend quality time with you, but recently my feelings have started to change and I no longer feel attached.

I wish you all nothing but the best as you try and iron out your messy, messy lives.

Hugs,
Ernie

I Always Thought I Looked Like Him.

See?! People never believed me.

Monday, January 08, 2007

I know there will be a day when I will have hair on my head again. In the meantime, I'll keep repeating to myself that bald is beautiful.

I know there will be a day when I will not feel 15 degrees colder than everyone else. In the meantime, I'll keep wearing four layers of shirts.

I know there will be a day when I will feel strong again. In the meantime, I'll keep getting out of bed, dressing for the day, and having something to eat.

Insert Puerto Rico Joke Here

Next weekend, Paul and I go on holiday to the island of Enchantment, Puerto Rico, for about a week. Both of us have never been, but have heard nothing but praise for visiting San Juan.

Here are the supposedly top four reasons to go:
1) a nightlife that rivals Miami (I'll pass.)
2) restuarants that run the gamut from simple to luxury (Good!)
3) both the wild and developed beaches (Excellent!)
4) the nature walks (Oh please.)

I don't care what we do, as long as the weather will be where it calls for this time of year, around 85. I can just feel that sun on my skin! Ahhhh.

P.S. The picture above is a real shot of one of P.R.'s beaches.

Let's Start From The Top

Okay, time to get right down to what I've been up to recently:

It was bound to happen: Paul and I finally walked out of a movie. And the kicker is that the movie got stellar ratings from all the critics. According to the Washington Post, The Good Shepherd was a shoe-in for Best Picture of The Year.

But I couldn't keep my eyes open. And when they weren't closed, I never looked at the screen. I looked around at those nearby and wondered whether they were as bored as I was. Finally, Paul looked at me, and said "I'm over it. Did you want to leave?"

I thought he would never ask.

Happy New Year!

Ahh, back from vacation. I didn't really go anywhere, I just took a break from blogging and e-mailing people.

Christmas was great, New Year's was even better. I spent Christmas with my family (42 of them) hopping from house to house, eating filipino food.

New Year Eve was a swanky dinner for four, then watching Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve with Paul at home.

I got so many great presents for Christmas, like a new pair of eyeglasses (my ninth pair), a bathrobe from Land's End, slippers for lounging around the house, and the list goes on.

I've got lots to tell you about, so stick around!
