Oh Ernie, I'm glad you are at peace and have no more worries or pain. But, I just found out last night you even had leukemia and had a blog, and had hoped to communicate with you more. I thought you had a little more time, but peace is what counts.
May you rest in peace my friend. You were a special person and I value the memories you gave me.
God bless, babycakes. You have made all of our lives richer for having been lucky enough to be your friend.
See you on the other side ... save me a dance :-)
Love,
Michael
Ernie,
I never thought that our last conversation about your sleep would be our last time talking. I am so glad I got to hear your voice one more time. I am sitting and looking at the little australian koala bear that you gave me...I remember the flowers...the smiles.
Do you remember the step we gave you from the step sluts? We even signed it. Your mom wouldn't let it in your house till she cleaned it.
I still have so much to say to you...how much I love you....how cool it is that you let an old lady like me be your friend...our last meal together at the Blue Moon....all your wild step moves.
Ah Ernie, too soon....but thank G-d you are not suffering anymore.
You will always be the most fashionable, the funniest, the smurfiest, the trendiest, the sweetest little boy I will know.
I love you Ernie and always will.
~Elly
Does anyone know what the memorial or funeral service arrangements are? There are a lot of long time dear friends who would like to pay our last respects to such an amazing and wonderful guy.
Thanks,
Rich
rest in peace Ernie. All your pain and sorrow are now gone. You will be missed. i am so happy that we did get to see each other that day in Target and talked about shoes. That you noticed my brother's shoes because you had the same ones!! Love, Liz Lyons-Wood

As many of you know my brother Ernie fought tumors in his brain for more than eight years. He passed away Friday morning. While his time on earth was short, he lived life to the fullest and touched many people's hearts. I appreciate all of your support and know that your prayers are with me and all that were close to Ernie.
Something close to my brother's heart was the church my parents started in the Philippines. The church was so important to him that he traveled to the Philippines in November. While there, he saw an overwhelming need for a pavilion outside the church to house the ever increasing numbers of worshipers every Sunday.
My parents would like to build this pavilion in his honor. In lieu of gifts or flowers, please consider making a donation to this cause. Details are below.
Love,
-Ernelita (Ellen).
If you would like to donate, please make checks payable to:

Dearest Paul,
I want to say to you that you are, what we call in the Jewish religion, a MENTSCH....a truly good person. You brought Ernie in his last days, months and years, such joy and love. We can all live without material goods, but we can't live without love. I am certain that Ernie's life was prolonged by years, because of YOUR love. From those of us that knew Ernie and loved him so, THANK YOU for loving Ernie and allowing Ernie to be loved by YOU. You kept Ernie alive for much longer than any doc thought possible.
Dearest Paul, family, and friends, It is Sunday, March 21, 2010, and I just got back from the weekend and saw the blog. I am so stunned by the news that words fail me.
My heart is broken and saddened at our loss of Ernie from our lives. I know that Ernie is in a better place, free of pain and at peace-no more suffering.
Paul, all our lives will be less without Ernie in them, especially yours. May God truly give you his love and mercy during these difficult times.
May God truly bless Ernie's soul and may we always see and remember what a wonderful and blessed man Ernie was in living our lives everyday!
Ernie,we are all richer for having known you and having you share a place in our lives!
Love,
Ben
Paul and family,

Ben

Ernie worked for me for 10 years at WAVA Radio in Arlington. When I interviewed him I thought "he does not have the experienced background I'm looking for"...but his attitdue was so positive. He became one of the top selling ad reps for Christian radion in the country. His smile and joy touched us all. He was a servant here on earth. I'm thankful he is in God's glorious presence now and am looking forward to seeing how his contagious attitude and joy have been received in Heaven.

Ernie, I really wish you could read this. It's me, Jessi Rotach, the daughter of the beanie baby woman at the mizzen mast, Linda Rotach. I didn't know you had leukemia, and I didn't know how sick you were, but I have thought about you almost every week of my life. You were one of the brightest, most kind people I have ever met in my life, or probably ever will meet. I talk about you and Paul all the time to my friends, and though we haven't spoken in years, my memories of you are strong. Especially when you picked me up from school in the red convertible type of car thing. (I can't remember what kind of car, except the hood was down and all my friends were talking about it for weeks later.) I just wanted to say I'll be there in D.C thursday to give you my final 'I love you'.
Dearest Ernie,
Thank you for you. You will truly be missed, along with your Magnolia cupcakes, sweets, low fat curries, myriad of cereals, scooter, Paul Franks and prayers.
Love love,
Ben
