4th And Final

I know, you're bored with this Swatch watch crap, I can tell. (Don't lie.) Same deal, only 9.999 made WAY back in the day in '85. It's on ebay. I hope I win. Me likey! Me wanty!

To keep you occupied in the meantime, here's an alternative version of Kely Perry's "I Kissed A Girl":

Swatch #3?

Do I like it? Yeah.

Do I love it? Mmm, it's okay.

Do I want it? If it was at decently priced (which is impossible).

Do I have to have it? Definitely not.

Verdict: I think I'll pass.

Swatch #2

I had this one when I was in 10th grade. I lost it while delivering papers. I was so depressed. My sorrow was worse when I found out it was a limited-edition with only 9,999 made. A neighbor found it in her yard. I saved it in my bedroom drawer. Then my mom tossed it many years later thinking it was trash. Now I have it again.

What comes around goes around.

Do These Two Things Have Anything In Common?

One was "inspired" by another, but which was was which?

DO NOT TEXT ME...

on my cell phone- my screen is not working, so I can't tell whether I have a message or not.

It just went kaput on me yesterday. I can receive calls, but can't tell who's calling, so if I've ignored you in the past, I'll take your call today!

Food Is Yucky. Yucky Is Food. Yuck. Food.

I burned my tongue drinking coffee on Friday, so everything in my typical diet tastes gross: hot dogs, Cheez-Its, and ice cream sandwiches. The only thing that had taste was salt and vinegar potato chips, but too many of them made my stomach hurt. If you know of a solution (besides time) that heals my taste buds, please let me know- I'm already have enough troubles eating in order to gain weight.

Woohoo!

Craigslist really works! I sold my bike in less than 24 hours! I posted it on craigslist Tuesday afternoon, by Tuesday evening I had gotten four e-mails expressing interest. Wednesday morning I got two more e-mails, and by Wednesday lunchtime it was sold for what I was asking!

Booyeah- touchdown! I make miracles happen!

National Zoo

It is CRAZY here in the D.C. area. Bridges are closed, streets are filled with military humvees, and everyone from Justin Timberlake to Oprah Winfrey are in town partying. The city is surging with people, excitement, and much hype.

The gym was packed, people in all colors and sizes, on nearly every machine, and a waiting line to hop on a treadmill.

The four-star restaurant I went for lunch today (IHOP) was crawling with people and decibel levels were through the roof. And even though it was 2:15PM, I still had to wait for a table.

CRAZY.

Health Update #3514

Which do you want first- the good news or the bad news?

Let's say you're a pessimist that hates the world but you disguise yourself as a "realist". So we'll start with the bad news:

My liver numbers have taken a turn for the worse. And while I had an ultrasound done on my liver a couple of weeks ago and there was nothing unusual, my doctor is sending me to a liver specialist to figure out what's the problem. Maybe it's the chemo. Maybe it's the margaritas. Maybe the cancer's spread.

The good news is that my doctor has taken me off the chemo med that's the roughest on my body until the problem is solved. It's been so good for me- I'm starting to feel like "Ernie", and not "a chemo patient that's covered in molasses".

My Opinion Of Ryan Seacrest?

"Enough. Thank you. That was ab-so-lutely dreadful."

"Dawg. It was good. Kinda' pitchy, but you alright. I'm going to go with yes."

"I like you. Yes."

"I'm going to have to say no."

I Loved "Revolutionary Road".

Last night, Sigourney Weaver couldn't have said it any better:

Set in a nid-1950's Connecticut suburb, this film is an unflinching look of a married couple played to perfection by Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio, who appear to have a happy life, but are frustrated in their marriage, their jobs. and their lives. We feel their pain and identify with their yearning to capture the passion and freedom of their younger days. But be forewarned- although being nominated for four Golden Globe awards, director Sam Mendes' ("American Beauty") take on lost dreams may cause every couple to reflect on their relationship,

This is "Revolutionary Road".

Posthumous And Slummy

Congratulations on your Golden Globe, Heath. You deserved it.

Caregiver? Driver? Nanny?

Assistant?

There's a new person in my life- her name is Sylvia. She is a wonderful, short filipino (redundant) woman who was hired to come twice a week during the day and take me around town to do my errands. She is also responsible for doing some light cooking and cleaning.

We start each day by having her walk Taylor. Then she runs me to the gym while she goes back to the house and cleans. She comes back, picks me up, and off we go: grocery store, the bank, post office, dry cleaners, the mall, on and on.

She has that "sixth sense" of seeing dead people. No, she has that "instinct" of looking around and figuring out what she can do for me. She carries everything, pushes my grocery cart, and massages my back and the bunions on my feet. (Don't I wish).

If only she treated me to lunch everyday.

Rubber Meets Road

Well, we're officially out of the holiday season, where the thrill, excitement, and preparation for the holidays has passed. The festive spirit that everybody donned for New Year's is today's hangover, as many of us returned to the office today and back to the daily grind.

Time to put away the ornaments, the colorful giftwrap, and those useless gifts that you'll recycle next year. Chuck that tree out on the curb.

It's that time where winter feels long, cold, and sad, because warmer weather doesn't return regularly for several months (unless the groundhog says so).

I'm going to spend the next couple of weeks running to the Container Store spending money I don't have in order to pretend I'm organizing the basement.

Resolution or Intention

While I could bore you with the details about my Christmas, New Year's, the pig head, and how a cold on top of chemo is a train wreck, I'd rather not.

Do I have a New Year's resolution? Yes. I hope to travel outside of America- preferably Germany, London, or Italy. Maybe Sweden. I would love to go to Tokyo or to the Philippines, but I'm not ready for a flight that takes forever. But I'm prepared for a little travel, listening to foreign accents, eating strange cuisines, wondering why they do things differently, converting prices to US dollars, and of course, some international shopping.

The problem is chemo. I can't go away too long or it'll affect the schedule. I get bloods done weekly, infusions every other week, "peace pipe" (inhaling the medicine) every four weeks, and "wreck your body" pills every six weeks. MRI's every seven weeks.

When they said "chemo consumes", they weren't joking.
